Winning Poker Strategies By Stephen Krex

by Kathy Jhones

Poker is not only fun, but also it can be very profitable. Many people just play for fun and let others win the profits. Stephen Krex is not one of these people. He plays for fun and profit. Read the following tips and strategies and you will not only be having fun, but you will also be getting paid for it.

There are two basic strategies that you must know to successfully play in Sit-N-Go poker tournaments. One is tight aggressive (TAG), and the other is loose aggressive (LAG).

It is extremely important for the TAG strategy to understand how your opponent is playing and how they think you are playing. Most of the time you will not play very many hands, but when you do play you will bet and raise aggressively. You are looking to enter pots that have a better than average starting hand and then hopefully bust your opponent.

For the LAG strategy your objective is to see many flops. You must be willing not only to call raises, but you will also raise many pots that you enter. You continue to bet and raise aggressively on the flop, but it is absolutely critical to understand relative strenght and where you are in the hand. If done correctly your chip stacks should grow because you will be getting many small pots with your aggressive betting. Your objective is to see many flops, but eventually the other players will grow tired of your continued aggression and start playing back at you.

This style of playing is not easy. You will need to become able to recognize when someone really has a good hand and when he or she is just trying to shut you out. Interestingly, they will be more aggressive with their bid if they have a lower quality hand.

Krex prefers to play single table Sit-N-Go tournaments. The best method to use will vary depending on how many players are paid and how much they are paid. The top three players are paid in a regular Sit-N-Go tournament. First place winners get half the pool, second place gets thirty percent and the remaining balance goes to the third place winner. A double or nothing tournament pays the five starting payers. They receive double their buy in less their entry fee.

There are two different speeds for Sit-N-Go tournaments, regular and turbo. The speed is reflected by how fast the blinds are increased. They increase much more quickly in turbo speed than in regular speed. Turbo tournaments are often preferable to many players because they finish a lot faster than regular tournaments. That means a player can make more money because they can play more tournaments in a given time period.

In the double or nothing Sit-N-Go tournaments five players double their buy-in and five get nothing. Your goal is to outlast five of the players. Surviving is how you make money and playing TAG you will make above average in a given amount of playing time.

These methods seem to go against human instincts but that is what makes them work. Stephen Krex wins with these methods time and again. You can make them work for you. Enjoy your game and may the cards be with you.
