For some reasons, the need to prepare or make a bathroom floor plan arises. It could be because you've built a new extension and you wish to include new bathroom, you're planning to renovate an existing bathroom space, you've converted a separate bathroom and toilet into one bigger space or that you've absorbed a storeroom to give a larger bathroom.

It is important to ensure that the floor plan of your bathroom is as accurate as possible, because you will need to make certain that all your measurements are accurate. Make sure that you do not forget to include all the fixtures in the bathroom, or where the door, windows and other permanent features are. It is best to draft your bathroom floor plan on scale paper at first and remember that you can go back to it to make any necessary changes.

Aside from the classing paper drafting and drawing of the bathroom floor plan, one may also find ideas on the Internet. There is wealth of resources offering different designs that can help you find the perfect bathroom without going over your budget.

For your building or remodeling needs here are a few helpful hints.

Plumbing Must Be Your Starting Point

Although you might require the assistance of a qualified plumber you must begin your bathroom floor plan design by focusing on the plumbing. Remember, problems happen and so your plumbing needs to be fixed in such a way as to enable a plumber to address a problem that might arise down the line with minimal difficulty. If, for instance, you are installing a new upstairs bathroom the best thing to do is to install it above the kitchen or a downstairs bathroom. The only plumbing required is to link the new plumbing with the plumbing that is already there.

Be Objective About It

Next, look at the area with an objective mind, determine the best places for the toilet, sink, tub, and shower enclosure. Know whether your tub will be a combination shower and tub or those tub jets with irregular shapes. Consider the location of the window and decide if the vanity and the sink will be better in the window area or if you would like to place the tub there. Newer piece designs of tub may not be suitable for window area, as it will only block the view.

Make Information Available

Because your electrical outlets have to be added to the bathroom for things like the towel racks, cabinets, etc, your plumber will need to have access to that information.

Whatever your reasons for planning or remodeling a new bathroom, you have to understand that this is really a daunting task. Bathroom floor plans are considered as the starting point of any renovation or remodeling project in the bathroom. Before starting and ripping down anything in your bathroom, you have to have a bathroom floor plan to consult to.
