The Essential Elements of Facial Skin Care

All that it takes to keep your skin healthy, glowing, and youthful for years and years is to make sure that it is properly cleansed, moisturized, and protected. Proper skin care can be done using a simple regimen that does not require hours to be spent on complicated routines nor necessitate the acquisition of numerous and expensive facial skin care products.

Determine your skin type and select facial skin care products that are appropriate for it. The products to be used must be specially made for oily, normal, combination, dry, or sensitive skin, depending on which type of skin you have. What you need are just three kinds of facial skin care products: a cleanser, a moisturiser, and a sun screen.

The objective of cleansing is the removal of dirt, dead skin cells, microorganisms, excess oil, and the residue of substances applied to the skin such as cosmetics that form a filthy film on the surface of the skin. This is the most fundamental aspect of facial skin care. If skin is left un-cleansed, harmful microorganisms will develop and eventually lead to disease and infection. Cleansing should be done in the morning and in the evening.

A cleanser that's strong enough to remove dirt and excess oil yet mild enough not to dry out the skin is ideal. Splash your face first with warm water; warm water opens pores and makes skin easier to cleanse. Then lather on the right amount of cleanser. Use cool water to rinse off the cleanser; cool water will close your pores. If you wear makeup, it is best to remove it first using a gentle make up remover.

Skin should be moisturized regardless of its type. Moisturisers help maintain the skin's structure by replenishing its natural ingredients and protect it from damage by free radicals. Select a moisturiser that doesn't leave a greasy, sticky feeling or make your facial skin appear oily. At the same time it should have enough lubricating ingredients to keep your skin from getting dry and rough.

There are moisturizers that contain sun screen at the same time. These provide protection from the sun's UV rays. These are ideal for daytime use as exposure to UV rays damages the skin and causes sunburn, wrinkles, age spots, and skin cancer. Aside from sun screen, consider using hats, visors, scarves, and parasols to guard your skin against damage caused by the sun.

Handling that could damage the skin's structure, such as pulling down or overstretching and hard rubbing or scrubbing motions, should be avoided. Skin is delicate and should be handled with care. Use upward, circular motions when applying facial skin care products such as cleansers, moisturisers, and cosmetics. This manner of handling will minimize damage and promote good circulation for healthier skin.

Again, there's no need to go to great expense in terms of money and time to have great-looking skin. Uncomplicated and proper facial skin care following the dictates of common sense will keep your skin healthy and beautiful.
