Not Dating? What You Can Enjoy Right Now

by Guest Author

While walking through a crowd, you hear the chatter and laughter all around. You see couples walking by smiling and holding hands. You wonder to yourself, how did they meet? Did they meet at the grocery store, while during laundry or are they result of an internet dating connection?

And right about the same time you can't help but feel that you want to be part of a twosome as well. Rest assured, you're not alone. Lots of singles feel exactly the same way. You wonder why you haven't found someone to share your life with. You always thought you would; you went to school, have a good job, but you haven't fallen in love.

After the falling in love part comes marriage and the baby carriage; or so you thought. Life seems to have other plans for you, but don't give up! By keeping a positive attitude, it's really just a matter of time before you meet someone to call your own.

In the meantime it's important that you live your life to the fullest. While you're single, take advantage of the situation by doing things that you might not be able to do if you were part of a twosome.

1.You can take off at a moment's notice. Picture this; your best friend was able to get tickets for a concert that you really wanted to see. You couldn't get tickets. She's decided to surprise you and has invited you along. See? No one's feelings will get hurt if you just pick up and go.

2. You can date as many people as you like. As a single man or woman you can date a few people at a time until you make the choice to settle down with one person.

3. You get your whole living (and sleeping) space to yourself. No sharing the remote, no one hogging the blankets. You can stay up and sleep in as late as you want, and play the music you want whenever you want.

4. You don't have to call home if your plans for the evening change suddenly. You're free to accept party or dinner invitations without having to consider anyone else but yourself.

5. Depending on your budget, you can eat out as much as you like or stay home and cook your own meals. Once again, you can please yourself. And that applies to your level of home tidiness too.

Although many of these things mention above may sound selfish, they are things to consider when dating. Knowing that you can do what you want when being single and knowing this changes slightly when you are involved could help one know that life does change and help them to adjust themselves accordingly. This way, when you do finally meet that special someone you might be more willing to inform them of your whereabouts.

Reflecting on these points can also help you decide whether you really do want to be attached to one person for the rest of your life. It can be a wonderful experience, but it's not for everyone. So make the most of your single life while you're looking for The One.
