A beautifully done christmas tree is a sight to behold and a joy to have in a home. Hanging up the lights and ornaments is an exciting ritual for many children and continues to be to this day. Many make it a habit to look for christmas tree decorating ideas every year. However you decide, here are some great tips on decorating a christmas tree you can use this season.
How about you? Is your house a banner of yuletide cheer yet? Have you dropped by that christmas tree shop to get your special evergreen-all luscious and crisp, ready to be decorated on? When you do, here are some tips for putting lights on a christmas tree to help you enjoy your holiday season better without any worry and stress.
Find a spot wherein your tree can best be viewed and enjoyed by family members and friends. Make sure that you have the fir pruned, washed and ready before it is set in its designated space. It should be near enough a wall to plug in the cord but distant enough so you can walk around it as you hang up ornaments. Move it back to the wall after if you like.
Choose a theme and a color palette and have your tree adhere to these parameters as well. The first decorations you will hang up are the lights. Mini white lights are a classic which go well with anything but take your pick among the different kinds available in the market today. Begin with the lowest set of branches, coiling the strand of lights around the trunk and limbs evenly and work your way upwards.
The next thing we hang up are the garlands. The more holiday looking the better. Many have used stringed popcorn and cranberries to wrap around the tree but unless you are sure your home is without rodents and bugs; it might be better to go the safer route and choose the inedible decorations. Brightly colored tinsel is always a popular choice and a personal favorite of mine.
Make sure that you have a sturdy stool or step ladder to stand on when you attempt to decorate the upper layers of the tree. Also, if you don't have family members to help you decorate, have a reliable friend around to hold the stool securely and enjoy the spirit of Christmas with together.
When you are done and satisfied with the spacing and layering of the lights, check to see if the cords are all aligned behind the tree. Connect these cords and plug in the lights. You might get a better perspective when you dim the lights and take a few steps back. When all seems well, you can start loading on the other ornaments on the tree. Wrap first the tinsel garlands then the accessories like ribbons, bells and christmas balls.
There, the needed tips for putting lights on a christmas tree; wasn't that easy? Now you have a beautiful, twinkling tree to commemorate this truly amazing season with. Breathe in the love; linger and spread it abroad this year-Merry Christmas!
