Is it really possible to beautify a new house - bare, plain and unfurnished - with attractive objects and design without having to break your savings account? Sure, surewhy not? With all the available and diverse home decorating products in the market, anything is possible. Plus, if you don't have to pay for an interior decorator, you'll get to save a big chunk of your money for buying things you need or want.

Here are some decorating guidelines for you:

The motif of your home has a big role in the overall look of the place. Decide which rooms to paint and which ones to wallpaper. Take into account the space of each area so you can better furnish it with the necessary and appropriate objects.

The living room is a major room in the house. Make sure that it looks welcoming and appealing. Curtains and area rugs add color; cushions and coverings meanwhile add design and texture. You can buy these items for less in discount stores.

The bedroom's focal point is the bed. You have a good bed and you're all set. Decorating with personal items will make the bedroom more of your private space. You can choose your window treatments. Some prefer blinds from curtains for a more modern look. Beddings suitable to the bedroom's color is a must to make the room look more coordinated.

The Children's Bedroom: It should be bright and airy with lovely, pleasing to the eye wallpaper and matching curtains. Of course, if your children are small, a bunk bed to one side would be advisable, leaving enough space for them to play with their toys. A study table should be available for their use as well.

Make your kitchen more than just a cooking place. If space permits, have a dining set too albeit less formal than the one in the dining room. Storage is crucial too in the kitchen to prevent clutter. Don't be strictly straightforward in decorating your kitchen, especially if you intend to spend family time here. Make it inviting as well by using a warm color, an area rug to embellish the floor, curtain or window blinds and other decorations like flowers, photos and your family's message board on the wall.

The dining room should be attractive enough to be a party space too. Think of dinner parties, special occasions and family gatherings. Choose a dining set that can accommodate your family and add in some nice accessories like a pretty centerpiece and an area rug for the dining table set. Ensure that it's the right size to be able to cushion the chairs even when they're pulled back. You don't have to buy new decors. If you have a collection of silverware or china, then you can display those.

In all these rooms, displaying an area rug helps meeting the beauty standards easier. Even such spaces as the bathroom, porch and entryway will look better with an area rug as a floor covering. Selecting a rug that goes well with the motif or design of the room is a decorating success right before your eyes.
